Image and Signal Processing Research Scientist. He was born in Athens, Greece, on November 8th, 1963. He got the B.Sc. from the Department of Mathematics of the University of Athens, Greece and his Ph.D. from the Physics Department of the same University (1992). His scientific interests include Solar Physics and astronomical image processing. He has published more than 26 scientific papers in international refereed journals and about 30 papers in international conferences and special volumes. He has acted as reviewer/referee for Journals related to Image Processing and Astronomy such as Astronomy and Astrophysics. He was a postdoctoral research at the solar physics group of Caltech and a researcher at the Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics of the National Observatory of Athens (1995-1998).
