Biography:
Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, University of Athens, Greece. She was born in Athens, Greece. She received her B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Athens (1977) and the Ph.D. in Solar Physics in 1985 from the same University. She worked at the University of Athens from 1978 originally as research assistant and Lecturer and retired in 2020. Her scientific interest is mainly Solar Physics (Radio emission from solar flares, combination with X-ray bursts, study of the solar activity, spatial and temporal distribution of solar activity indexes during the solar cycles, relation of solar-terrestrial phenomena) as well as in the Magnetospheres, atmospheres, morphology etc. of the planets. She has published 82 papers in international and Greek journals. She has participated in many research programs and was a referee in international scientific journals. She is a member of the International Astronomical Union (IAU), of the European Astronomical Society (EAS), of the Planetary Society, of the Hellenic Astronomical Society (Hel.A.S.) and of the Hellenic Physical Society.
