Abbott William (1906-2001) Honorary Assistant Professor of Astronomy, University of Athens, Greece (born 1906). He got his Physics degree from the University of Athens, Greece (1927-1932) and his Ph.D. from the same University (1946). He had worked as Assistant Professor at the University of Alaska, U.S.A. He had published 7 papers on the Cepheid variable stars and textbooks. He had been honored with a literature award from the National Academy of Athens, Greece.
